Offering Radical Mercy
“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?”
Have you ever found yourself in a position needing mercy or kindness? Now imagine that moment with little resources, support, and care. One of the most beautiful and convicting things about Christianity is God’s radical mercy and kindness towards us. His grace never runs out, never ends, and He always pursues us with a love relationship. No matter how bad we mess up, how far we run, or how many excuses we try to make, God continues to offer radical love and mercy.
At Mission: Possible! Austin, our core values come from God’s Word in Micah 6:8 to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God. This requires a lot of prayer, support, and time in the Word. In 2017, God gave us a vision to build two homes to practice the same radical mercy and kindness that He lavishes upon us. In 2018, we opened the “Hesed” Interventional Homes. Hesed is the Hebrew word for mercy/ loving-kindness which describes God’s character and action.
The Hesed Interventional Homes today provide women and children in crisis a Christian support system, safe place to stay temporarily, and qualified people to help connect them to safer and sustainable resources long-term. Women from our Lifeline Pregnancy Resource Center, children and family programs, our partners Eastside Community Church and Recovery ATX have all been able to receive care from Hesed Interventional Homes. In return, we are able to connect women to our other programs. Recently,we have about four women attending Eastside Community Church on our campus!
We are thankful for the out-pouring of support we receive from you! When you give to Mission: Possible! Austin your dollars are able to support a synergistic Family of Ministries reaching children, families, women, homeless, and elderly in need! Together as a family, we are able to break the cycle of poverty one life at a time.
